Clip-on baseboards
If you are looking for a simple and aesthetic solution, there are also clip-on baseboards. Easy to assemble and disassemble, if you want to do any work, it is the ideal system for beginners in DIY. However, the exposure time is longer and the necessary supplies more expensive. 
Skirting boards to be nailed or screwed
Last solution, you can also nail or screw your baseboards directly to the wall. The advantage: the baseboards will be very solid over time. The disadvantages: the installation is more delicate. The nails or screws are also visible, therefore unattractive.
